Dylan Swinson has performed in the lowcountry since 2015. Growing up in Summerville, South Carolina, Dylan’s interest in music began with his mother playing her cds as she dropped him off at school. These included albums from The Cure, Better Than Ezra, and Edwin McCain. Dylan knew he wanted to play music when she introduced him to Grace by Jeff Buckley. He has since been vocally influenced by the likes of Buckley, Bryan Adams, and Steve Perry.
Dylan’s solo set consists of pop, rock, and folk songs ranging from the 1960s to present day; his personal favorites are from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Either with just an acoustic guitar or with a loop pedal, Dylan is able to bring an energetic or a smooth performance depending on what is needed. He has also released original music, with his two EPs Freedom & Solitude (2015), Prove Em’ Wrong Kid (2017), and full length album Self-Titled (2020), being played on 105.5 The Bridge and streaming on Spotify.
When he isn’t playing solo, Dylan plays as a part of the duo The Jamm with Evan Lampkin, and as part of the pop-punk/emo band Jerkweed.
